Haircuts by Children
Mammalian Diving Reflex / Darren O’Donnell
QUAI GUSTAVE-ADOR | 14h30 - 18h30 | ARTS VIVANTS
Will you dare to entrust your head to our apprentice hairdressers? Aged ten and eleven, they will use all their skills to style your hair for free!
Trained in the art of scissors and hair dye by the Canadian collective Mammalian Diving Reflex and two Geneva-based professionals, about twenty apprentice hairdressers aged ten and eleven are offering free haircuts in the pop-up salon they manage independently. Invoking the notions of responsibility and creativity, relying on courage, trust, and shared intimacy, the performance Haircuts by Children revolutionizes the adult/child relationship and showcases the seriousness and talent of the younger generations. It’s enough to dare to entrust them with our heads without getting (too) many gray hairs!
By appointment (number provided from 14.08)
Note: those wishing to get their hair cut must be at least 16 years old with the support of the Canada Council for the Arts and the Ontario Arts Council
